PLARN Workshop to occur Oct 19 in Room 708 from 3:15-5:30 PM
Wondering how you can get involved and help your community? Stay after school on Oct 19 from 3:15-5:30 PM and create a PLARN Mat for the Homeless. Ellie Christenbury, member of Multiplying Good, is offering this project as part of our “STHS GOES GREEN” Initiative. On Oct 19, Ellie will teach us how to recycle plastic bags by cutting and crocheting them into PLARN (Plastic Yarn) that will be used to create a portable adult size sleeping mat for someone to use.
If you want to join our PLARN Workshop, sign up outside Ms Massaro’s Room 708 or see Multiplying Good members who will have a sign up sheet at each lunch period until the workshop date on Oct 19. The Night Bus will be available to transport anyone home that chooses to stay after school and needs a ride.
Any lightweight plastic bag donations, like those you get from Walmart, Grottos or CVS, can be brought to Room 708 before Oct 19.
Volunteer hours will be given to anyone who participated on Oct 19 from 3:15-5:30 in Room 708 for the PLARN Workshop. Hope to see you then!
