Student Special Services

Sussex County Vocational Technical School District Special Services Department

Welcome to Our Special Services Department

At Sussex Technical High School, our Special Services Department is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. We offer a range of services to address the diverse needs of our students, including Special Education, 504 accommodations, and Multilingual Learner (MLL) support, ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality education.

We recognize that each student has individual strengths, talents, and needs. Our team of skilled educators, support staff, and specialists collaborates with families and students to create personalized plans that promote growth, independence, and achievement. Whether through Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, 504 Plans to support students with medical or other challenges, and tailored MLL support, we work together to support every student’s journey.

Our services include:

  • Individualized Support: Tailored instruction and accommodations designed to help students reach personal and academic milestones.
  • Resource Rooms and Specialized Classrooms: Spaces where students can receive focused support in small groups for academic, social, or emotional needs.
  • Collaboration and Inclusion: Opportunities for students to participate in general education classrooms, activities, and events with necessary modifications and accommodations.
  • 504 Services: Support plans that provide accommodations for students with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to school programs and activities.
  • Multilingual Learner (MLL) Services: Language development and academic support for multilingual learners to help them thrive in all areas of their education.
  • Transition Planning: Guidance and resources to support students as they prepare for post-secondary education, career paths, or independent living.

We invite you to explore our website or contact the Special Services Department to learn more about the resources and support available. Together, we are committed to creating an empowering educational experience for all students.
